Performing in College: A Discussion with Experts on Studying Performing Arts

  • Jordan-Matthews Media Center 910 East Cardinal Street Siler City, NC, 27344 United States (map)

Thinking about studying performing arts in college? It’s a big decision and there’s a lot to consider. But you don’t have to wonder what it’s like! Here’s your chance to get insider’s tips and essential advice from the people who actually know — from instructors currently teaching music, dance, theater and commercial music at area colleges and universities.

Get the truth about college auditions and the application process. About the different kinds of college arts degrees. (Quick note: They can be as different as night and day!) What classes and life will be like when you arrive on campus. And what job options might be available after graduation.

It’s all free, including a short reception with light refreshments after the discussion where you can meet the experts one-on-one and get personal answers to questions you’ve always wanted to ask. (One JM alum is taking a class this semester from one of our panelists he met during this event a few years ago.) This evening is all about you and your success!

Our discussion is moderated by JMArts President Rose Pate and features an impressive panel of college arts teachers. Here is the panel; click on links for more detailed bios.
