Top vocalists from across Chatham conclude their daylong vocal clinic with a free public performance by the One Chatham middle and high school choruses.
The One Chatham High School Chorus will be conducted by Dr. Daniel M. Huff, Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, who also is leading the clinic. The One Chatham Middle School Chorus will be conducted by music teachers Christene Vaughn of Horton Middle School and Kami Keesor of Margaret B. Pollard Middle School. Both choruses will be accompanied by Michael Cohn of Northwood High School.
Dr. Daniel M. Huff is clinician and conductor for the One Chatham High School Chorus. He is Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as Area Head for Music Education from 1989 to 1921 — conducting the UNC Glee Club, teaching choral conducting and supervising student teachers. Over his 32-year association with UNC-Chapel Hill, Dr. Huff conducted or adjudicated more than 165 state, regional or national festivals and workshops. He received the UNC Undergraduate Teaching Award in 1999 and was inducted into the Order of the Longleaf Pine in 2021 in recognition of his contributions to music and music education across our state. Dr. Huff holds his bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
